这首颇具争议的《爸爸爱妈妈》本来是典型的乡村主题，但其中浓烈的布鲁斯摇滚却似乎是来自摇滚致富的工人阶级子弟布鲁斯·斯普林斯延。也好，工农结合嘛，布鲁斯吉他和乡村提琴共舞，摇滚节奏猛然引出纯粹的乡村副歌，无论如何，这首歌作为根源摇滚，称得上是乡村与布鲁斯携手闯天涯的最好例证。而真正令人心跳的还是歌词部分，紧张的切分音和急促的节奏展开了悲剧，那冰冷的，或者灼热的故事。“妈妈是个美人，上帝，她漂亮极了，爸爸是个好人，但是爱吃醋。爸爸爱妈妈，妈妈爱男人，妈妈进了坟墓，爸爸进了监狱。”就是这样，一个卡车司机的儿子所知道的全部，就是爸爸总得出门，他每晚打来电话，但妈妈需要的是拥抱，而不是“你怎么样？孩子们好吗？”当爸爸带着玫瑰和酒回来......一切，就是那样发生的。NOTE：
