Nintendo and Microsoft both have virtual currency, and now Square Enix is joining in on the fun. Rather than call them something like "Square Enix Points" though, they've decided to name the points "Crysta."
According to Siliconera, the points can be purchased in amounts of 500, 1000, 3000, 5000 and 10,000. Each point is worth approximately 1 yen (just over 1 American cent).
The points can currently be used in the online community game Party Castle, the MMO Fantasy Earth Zero, and to purchase soundtracks in the Square Enix e-store.
It's only available in Japan for the moment. If it turns out to be successful though, don't be surprised if it heads overseas too.
